In the pursuit of quality education through the medium of English, the Dharma Fund opened a new chapter in its commitment by starting an English Medium school, the‘Kalaimagal Viddyalaya’ on 01-04-1985.
Kalaimagal Viddyalaya Primary School was founded on Vijaya Dashmi with 70 students in K.C.Sankaralinga Nadar Higher Secondary School’s Auditorium in the year 1984. Kalaimagal Viddyalaya was upgraded to a fully-fledged Co-Educational School (CBSE Board) to Grace Garden in 1985. Kalaimagal Viddyalaya was upgraded to middle school in 1987 and it blossomed into a well-equipped Matriculation School in the year 1990. The school sent the first batch of Std X students during the year 1990-1991 and obtained cent percent result.
Classes XI and XII were included in the year 1992-1993 making it a Higher Secondary School. To inculcate competitive spirit among students gold medals have been instituted by the Dharma Fund and Dharma Fund members.
Hindu Nadars of Virudhunagar, who had a great desire to light the path of the community with the flame of knowledge by imparting good education founded Kshatriya Vidyalaya in the year 1889. It was the first school in Asia to offer free education for all. The school was founded by two unique systems viz. “Magamai” and “Pidi Arisi Thittam”. At the beginning of the 20th century many Hindu Nadars of Virudhunagar, migrated to various parts of Tamil Nadu. But, wherever they were, they established excellent Educational Institutions.
In 1922, the Hindu Nadars of Virudhunagar, who settled in North Chennai formed Sennaiyilulla Virudhunagar Hindu Nadars’ Abiviruthi Dharma Fund, to serve the needy. In order to meet the educational needs of the local North Madras public irrespective of caste and creed, P.A.K.Palanisamy Primary School, P.A.K.Palanisamy Higher Secondary School and K.C.Sankaralinga Nadar Higher Secondary School were founded at various stages under the Board of Tamil Nadu Aided Schools.
“Excellence in Education” is the goal of Kalaimagal Viddyalaya. The school aims in preparing the children of today to take their place in modern society as contributing and able citizens of tomorrow. The focus is on individual attention with only 40 students in a class on one hand and all-round development of the child’s creativity on the other. Our vision is to be a leading institution in education by creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where every student is encouraged to develop academically, personally and socially to face the challenges of the rapidly evolving world.
The learning experience is so designed that even a slow learner is enabled to learn through self-effort in an environment meant to develop the imagination and intellect to its fullest capacity with particular stress on the learning of English, both spoken and written. To provide high-quality education that promotes critical thinking, creativity and life-long learning. We believe in promoting values such as respect, integrity and compassion ensuring our students become responsible citizens contributing positivity in the society.
